Last night ‘s gala awards RuralApps 2015 was held at the Palace of Pedralbes, in Barcelona. Celicity was presented with the prize in the category RuralApps – Citizenship, while Agroptima was recognized in the category RuralApps – Professional Sector.

Both applications have goals, to promote the development of mobile applications in the context of agriculture, food and the rural sector. Our app has won in the category of citizenship by allowing people who follow a gluten-free diet (celiac, intolerant or sensitive to gluten, gluten free stylers) to find, review and share restaurants and shops with gluten-free products internationally. We use geo-localization to tell the user what gluten free places are around and display additional information about the establishment.

Eurecat created for the RuralApps awards the video attached in this for and therefore was shot in Catalan. In it, CEO Celicity , Jose Luis Rodriguez said that “Celicity is a solution for celiacs by celiacs, since its the own users who have control over the information posted on the platform. It is also the only solution in this market that allows users to update live the shops and restaurants. CeliCity is the only solution within this market that allows the users to see the information being updated on real time as they add venues”.

During the gala presentation, the Technological Innovation Agrifood 2015 Awards were presented (PITA 2015), with several very innovative initiatives in the agro-food sector were recognized.

The highlight of the day was marked by the appearance on stage of Gerard Piqué, FC Barcelona football player, who collaborates with one of the winners of the 2015 PITA awards.

The CeliCity team is very proud to have received this award. We want to share it with all of you, who make a social project like CeliCity grow day by day.
